The Bronx is Glowing

Welcome to the Bronx Zoo.

… Well actually the New York Botanical Garden, but the zoo is down the block.

“The Fountain of Life”

Lowkey known for its historical architecture, The Bronx continues to serve as a sanctuary for varied avenues of culture. Illuminated in hues of purple is “The Fountain of Life” evoking feelings of protection, rejuvenation, and youth.

Hidden Gems

The Bronx itself is a gem that has remained in the rough. Of the five boroughs, The Bronx is the most covered in green space with parkland alone comprising nearly a quarter of land cover. From an objective standpoint, The Bronx is the most beautiful borough that has maintained much of its integrity.

For various reasons, I’ve learned to check my surroundings at all times. This is particularly helpful when walking with a camera in hand with the intent of documenting what’s usually seen and what may go unnoticed. Luckily, I was able to spot this heavenly genus of the Rubus tricolor group on the ground. Deep greens mixed with dark purple on the coarse leaves and red bristles on the chutes instantly drew my gaze. The perfect representation for the most slept on borough. Instant wallpaper on my phone.
