Reflection:

This lesson was very relaxing. It helped me access a memory of a sunset that I struggled to take a picture of earlier in the week. In this particular sunset, the sky was a mixture of orange and pink that I happened to catch on the train as I made my way home from a long day. I channeled this image and the feeling that accompanied it as my paint brush mixed colors on the paper. I got lost in the dark blues which eventually became purples that I mixed on the paper with the red. I let some strokes of the red bleed through the water and onto the green of the island which created a froth that Iā€™d like to replicate another time. The green of the island ran into the trees which I gave a different stroke to show the separation.
